1. Planting time of potted calla lily

Calla lily is a monocotyledonous angiosperm belonging to the Araceae family and is a perennial herbaceous flower. It generally grows in tropical and subtropical regions and is suitable for growing in relatively warm environments. Therefore, it is necessary to avoid planting potted calla lilies in midsummer or cold winter, as this is not conducive to its rooting and germination, and it is difficult to keep it alive.

Therefore, it is best to plant potted calla lilies in spring or autumn. Spring is usually March or April, and autumn is usually around September. The temperature at this time is relatively stable, not too cold, but relatively warm, and the temperature is relatively suitable for its growth.

2. What kind of soil is better for Calla Lily?

When planting Calla lilies, you should use slightly acidic loam with good air permeability, rich in humus, and relatively high nutrient content. Flower soil with strong air permeability helps the roots breathe, thereby absorbing nutrients in the soil more efficiently. The high nutrient content in the soil can provide sufficient nutrients for the growth of plants.

When preparing flower soil, you can mix humus-rich leaf mold, relatively good garden soil, and fine sand in a ratio of 6:3:1. You can add a portion of decomposed organic fertilizer and then stir it evenly.

In addition, after preparing the soil, you should choose a suitable flower pot, preferably one with drainage holes. Calla lilies do not like a too humid environment. A flowerpot with drainage holes is convenient for draining excess water from the soil when watering is too much.
