How to grow Spathiphyllum to bloom

How to grow Spathiphyllum to bloom

1. Adequate light

Light is a very important condition that determines whether it can bloom. If it is not exposed to sunlight, Spathiphyllum will naturally not bloom. When caring for it, you need to place it in a place with sufficient scattered light to ensure that it can be exposed to sunlight, especially when it is about to bloom. It needs to be supplemented with enough light every day, but it cannot be exposed to the scorching sun.

2. Apply fertilizer

If there is a lack of fertilizer during the growth of Spathiphyllum, its flowering will be affected. It is necessary to apply fertilizer in time from May to September, mainly with phosphorus and potassium elements, so that it can absorb enough nutrients to ensure the normal opening of the flowers. Be careful to apply less nitrogen fertilizer before flowering, otherwise it will only cause the branches and leaves to grow too long but not bloom.

3. Timely water supply

A humid growing environment is also necessary. In addition to watering the roots, it is necessary to spray water frequently before flowering to maintain a certain degree of moisture. Spray water more towards the leaves to keep them moist. Only in a humid environment can it bloom normally.

4. Suitable soil

Soil is the basis for growth and flowering. It likes acidic soil. If the soil is alkaline, there will be problems with its growth and it will be more difficult for flowers to bloom. You can add appropriate amount of vinegar when watering.
