Lotus root planting time and method

Lotus root planting time

Lotus roots are generally planted in March and April every year, because the most suitable growth temperature for them is between 20-30 degrees. If the temperature is lower than this, its survival rate will be reduced, so the specific planting time needs to be determined according to the climate temperature at that time.

Lotus root planting method

1. Selection of lotus root seeds: When planting, you need to choose lotus roots that are fresh, disease-free, and healthy. The number of nodes of the lotus root seeds should be more than 3, and you should try to choose larger ones, so that better young lotus roots can grow after planting.

2. Lotus root seed processing: After selecting the lotus root seeds, they need to be processed in time. Specific agents need to be sprayed on the lotus root seeds, and they can be planted after being placed for a period of time.

3. Planting method: When planting lotus root seeds, try to plant them as deeply as possible. The deeper the planting, the more beneficial it is for its growth. Generally, they need to be planted at intervals of 30-50 cm.

Lotus root planting precautions

1. After planting the lotus root, it needs to be watered appropriately to keep the soil moist. This is beneficial to its growth, but care must be taken to prevent water accumulation.

2. When the lotus root is growing, it is very sensitive to the surrounding temperature, so the temperature must be kept above 20 degrees. If it is lower than this temperature, it will affect its growth.
