How to grow white magnolia

How to grow white magnolia

1. Suitable lighting

Magnolia likes sunlight and cannot tolerate a cool growing environment. If it is cultivated in a place with insufficient light for a long time, the branches and leaves will grow too long and there will be problems with the flowers blooming. At the same time, avoid exposing it to strong sunlight in hot summer to prevent the tender leaves from being burned and turning yellow.

2. Apply moisture

It is sensitive to water, so you need to control the frequency of watering. When planted outdoors, there is natural precipitation, so you don't need to give it too much water. Just water it appropriately when you see the soil becomes dry. As the temperature gradually turns cooler in late autumn, the water demand decreases significantly, so the frequency of watering can be reduced.

3. Apply fertilizer

Its flowering period is relatively long and the amount of flowers is large, so fertilizer supplementation is very important. Add sufficient base fertilizer, fertilize regularly during the growing season, and add a little phosphorus and potassium fertilizer before and after the flowering period.

4. Proper pruning

During the breeding process, you must pay attention to the pruning method. If you observe dead branches or diseased branches, you need to cut them off in time. After the flowers wither, remove the remaining flowers in time to prevent excessive consumption of nutrients.

5. Prevention and control of pests and diseases

During the cultivation and management process, normal maintenance is required to prevent the occurrence of chlorosis and root rot. Attention should also be paid to pests, as the plant may be infected with aphids, scale insects, etc.
