Light/soil/temperature/water/fertilization method of Torch Flower

Light/soil/temperature/water/fertilization method of Torch Flower

1. Lighting

Torch flower needs plenty of sunlight to grow, and can also tolerate partial shade, but it can only grow healthily in a place with good light. If it is placed in a shaded environment for a long time, the leaves will turn yellow due to insufficient light. It can be placed on a balcony with good light on a daily basis, and the sunlight should be properly blocked in summer.

2. Soil

Suitable soil can promote better growth. It can provide it with loose, breathable, well-drained soil, preferably sandy soil, and some base fertilizer.

3. Temperature

It likes to grow in a warm environment, grows better within a suitable temperature range, and is also cold-resistant. It can overwinter in temperatures above 5°C, but it is best moved indoors to a mild environment.

4. Water

Pay attention to watering during the growing period. It will grow rapidly if there is sufficient water. Water thoroughly each time to keep the soil in the pot appropriately dry and wet, and prevent it from being too dry or too wet.

5. Fertilization

Fertilization is one of the very important factors, especially in summer, sufficient fertilizer should be applied to ensure rapid growth. When the flower stems grow out, you can apply foliar fertilizer of potassium dihydrogen phosphate 2-3 times, or you can fertilize the roots with 1%-2% concentration of superphosphate, which can increase firmness.
