Cultivation methods and precautions of Banyan tree

Cultivation methods and precautions of Banyan tree

1. Soil

Generally, soil with good drainage does not have sufficient nutrients. In order to make the properties of the soil more suitable for the growth habits of the plants, base fertilizer should be added to the soil. This way, the soil will not only have good drainage but also sufficient nutrients.

2. Lighting

The Ficus microcarpa has a very high demand for light during its growing period. Because it can tolerate strong light, it can be exposed to sunlight all day during its growing period. When it is not in the growing season, the plant can be exposed to sunlight for less time, four hours a day is enough.

3. Temperature

It can withstand low temperatures and does not have extremely high temperature requirements. As long as the temperature is maintained at around fifteen degrees, its growth will not be affected.

4. Watering

It needs to be watered once a day, and the branches and leaves should be sprayed with some water. During the dormant period, you need to control watering slightly, and watering two to three times a week is enough.

5. Fertilization

It grows relatively fast, so its demand for nutrients is also relatively high. If it does not have enough nutrients, it will grow poorly and will need to be fertilized twice a month. When choosing fertilizers, you should choose fertilizers that are rich in nutrients but less irritating, otherwise root burn may easily occur.

6. Notes

When watering in winter, the water temperature should be similar to the room temperature, otherwise the plants will easily get frostbite. There is heating in the north in winter, so when caring for the plants, the plants should not be allowed to come into direct contact with the ground. They should be kept 20 cm above the ground.
