How long does it take for lily bulbs to bloom? When is the best time to plant them?

Lily bulbs will bloom 3 months after planting . They are planted in August and September every year when the temperature is around 15℃. Avoid direct sunlight which may cause death or cessation of development. It is recommended to place them in a semi-shaded place for maintenance so that the lily bulbs can bloom vigorously.

Lily bulb flowering process

Three days after the lily bulbs are planted, they will start to sprout leaves if the climate is relatively warm. At the same time, they need to be watered once a day. Be careful not to water them too much as the roots will rot. They must be given sufficient nutrients.

Generally, in about 10 days, the flower plant will grow to about 15 cm; after another week, the lily bulbs will begin to grow buds. At this time, they should be moved to a sunny place, about 4-5 hours of sunlight a day, otherwise the buds will melt. After 4-5 days, you can see the first bud blooming. In about 30-40 days, most of the lily bulbs will have their buds blooming.

The flowering period of lily bulbs is from May to July, and its peak blooming period is in July. A warm and comfortable environment should be provided. Usually lily bulbs are planted in early spring. Temperature and water control should be done well in normal times, and timely replenishment can promote the flowering of lily bulbs.
