How to grow Dendrobium officinale in pots at home

1. Pot soil selection

If you want to plant it in a pot, you must first choose the flower pot and loam. The flower pot cannot be too small. You can choose a larger one to ensure the good growth of the plant and avoid lack of nutrients. The material of the flower pot can be made of ceramic pots, which have better air permeability. They cannot withstand water and moisture, and those with poor water permeability should not be used. The substrate used must be permeable and can be made of bark, sawdust, etc. It must be sterilized and disinfected in advance and then fermented.

2. Cleaning the seedlings

Select suitable seedlings, then wash the roots with clean water, moving slowly so as not to damage the root system. Then soak them in disinfectant for a while and place them in a pergola to dry the roots.

3. Planting

Hold the plant with one hand and straighten it with the other hand and place it in the flowerpot, then fill the rest of the substrate into the pot, making sure the roots are covered, and gently press the soil to make sure the roots are in contact with the loam.

4. Maintenance and management

During maintenance, you must pay attention to the lighting conditions. It can only grow in a semi-shaded environment. If it is exposed to strong light, the plant will dry up. You also need to supplement nutrients and fertilize it every 7-10 days.
