Alum root introduction

Alumroot, also known as coral bells, belongs to the Saxifragaceae family. It has a relatively shallow root system and is relatively cold-resistant. It is generally planted in a semi-shaded environment.

The flowering period of alum root is from April to October. When propagating, sowing is generally used. The soil needs to be kept moist during planting, and it will germinate in about 15 days.

Alum root cultivation method

Alum root needs sufficient sunlight during its growth process. It is more suitable to be maintained in a cool place, especially in summer. It needs proper shade and good ventilation. It needs to be watered properly at normal times so that it can grow well, and fertilization should also be appropriate.

Watering method

When watering the alum root, it should be done in moderation. It does not like a too humid environment. Generally, it will be watered according to the dryness of the soil, and the watering must be thorough.

Fertilization method

Alum root needs to be fertilized appropriately. Generally, it does not need much fertilizer because it grows better in soil with less fertilizer. Normally, only a small amount of nitrogen fertilizer is needed.

Pruning methods

Alum roots are usually pruned in autumn. The dry leaves on the top need to be cleaned, and then some of the leaves at the bottom need to be cut off. After pruning, it needs to be properly fertilized and watered.

Alum root cultivation precautions

When caring for alum root, you need to pay attention to the need for a good ventilation environment at ordinary times, so that the occurrence of diseases and insect pests can be prevented during watering. Watering should be done in moderation. Excessive watering will not only affect the growth of the root system, but also cause the occurrence of diseases and insect pests.
