How to grow carrots

How to grow carrots

1. Maintenance methods

1. Temperature: Carrots are suitable for growing in a warm environment. They are not very cold-resistant. If the temperature is below eight degrees, they need to be kept warm. Therefore, they cannot spend the winter outdoors and need to be grown in a greenhouse. The temperature suitable for their growth is between fifteen and twenty-five degrees.

2. Watering: Carrots need a lot of water during their growth period, so irrigation work must be done well, especially in summer. Water evaporates faster in summer. In order not to affect its growth, it is necessary to water it twice a day, preferably in the morning and evening. In normal cultivation, we must insist on watering when the soil is dry, so that the fruit will have more moisture.

3. Light: Carrots need sufficient light, so when planting them, you need to choose a sunny place. The strong light in summer can also be absorbed well, so there is no need to worry about sunburn.

4. Fertilization: Fertilization is essential during the growth period. If you want to achieve perfect carrots, you can apply some carrot-specific organic fertilizer, so that the fruit that grows will be of very standard size. At the same time, in order to increase the yield, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizers can also be used in combination to achieve the goal of high yield.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Reproduction: Seeding is the main method of reproduction. Sowing takes place in spring, and of course it needs to be done before or after the rain so that the seeds can germinate well. At the same time, fertile soil should be selected. After sowing, pay attention to watering so that the seeds can germinate smoothly.

2. Pruning: No pruning is required because the carrots are ultimately harvested for their stems. The branches and leaves are of no value and have no ornamental value.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Disease: Black spot disease occurs in summer. This disease will spread to the roots of the plant, causing the fruit to become diseased and inedible, so it is necessary to spray it with a solution of thiophanate-methyl.

2. Pests: White grubs will appear, mainly affecting the roots of carrots. You can eliminate them by turning the soil.

IV. Other issues

1. Toxicity: It is non-toxic and has very high nutritional value.

2. Can it be raised at home? It is not recommended to raise it at home because it is usually planted in large areas in fields.
