Greenhouse vegetable planting technology

Greenhouse vegetable planting technology

1. Level the land

The first step in greenhouse vegetable cultivation is to level the land. The land needs to be renovated and weeded, and some base fertilizer can be added to the soil according to the vegetables planted. Fertilizer should not be too concentrated, otherwise it will cause soil hardening and other deterioration phenomena.

2. Reasonable scaffolding

The span of the greenhouse should not be too large, generally not exceeding 12 meters, and the length not exceeding 120 meters. It is best to have earth walls on three sides for better insulation. At the same time, you should choose a suitable steel frame to provide better support. Choose a drip-free film to cover the shed surface, which can increase the internal temperature.

3. Vegetable Selection

Due to the characteristics of the greenhouse itself, the selection of vegetables must meet several key points. The first is that the light requirement is low. The light time in winter is not long, and the coverage of the greenhouse will further reduce the amount of sunlight entering, so you must choose shade-tolerant vegetables. The second is strong resistance. The ventilation capacity of the greenhouse is average, so the plants must be resistant to diseases. The third is resistance to high humidity. The humidity in the greenhouse is often very high and difficult to control, so vegetables must be resistant to high humidity.

4. Temperature Control

One of the great advantages of a greenhouse is its good thermal insulation, which can provide a growing environment for some vegetables. But the temperature should not be too high and should be controlled below 33℃. If it exceeds this temperature, it should be cooled down immediately and the shed can be opened for ventilation.

5. Drip irrigation

Since the humidity in the greenhouse is high, it is not advisable to water too much. It is generally better to use drip irrigation. Drip irrigation itself can also save water and is a good and economical method.
