How to grow magnolia

1. Maintenance methods

1. Temperature: It has strong cold resistance and can withstand temperatures as low as zero degrees. It can be planted in both the north and the south. It also has strong high temperature resistance and can be planted in green spaces. The growth temperature range is 0 degrees to 35 degrees. As long as it is within this temperature range, the plants can grow normally.

2. Watering: There is no fixed time or frequency for watering. You can water it when you find the soil is dry. Water it enough each time to avoid water accumulation in the soil. If you water it too much, it will cause health problems such as root rot. If the curing temperature is too high, you can spray water to cool it down.

3. Fertilization: During the growing season, fertilizer is needed once a month. Before flowering, sufficient nutrients are needed. At this time, fertilizer can be applied once or twice a month. After the flowers fade, about three months later, topdressing is needed. The purpose is to ensure the nutrients for the plant to survive the winter, so that it can grow better and bloom more flowers in the coming year.

4. Light: Light is very important for its growth. The daily light time should not be less than eight hours. It can withstand strong light, so there is no need for shade when the light is strong.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Reproduction: It can be cultivated by high pressure breeding. Around July every year, select healthy branches, ring the thin skin, then close them with a bamboo tube that is split in half and filled with humus soil. It will take about two months for roots to grow, then cut it off from the mother plant and place it in new soil for cultivation.

2. Pruning: Generally, large outdoor plants do not require pruning. The only types that require pruning are potted plants. When the potted plant grows to the required height, cut off the excess branches and leaves, especially the side branches. Cutting off excess side branches can promote the development of new branches and leaves.

3. Problem Diagnosis

1. Pests: It is easily infected by aphids. If it is found to be infected with aphids, you can spray it with ash water. The frequency of spraying is once or twice a week.

2. Yellowing of branches and leaves: If you find that the branches and leaves of the plant are turning yellow, it is probably due to insufficient light. Its demand for light is very large. The solution to the above problems is to increase the light.

IV. Other issues

1. Toxicity: It is non-toxic. Not only is it non-toxic, it is also rich in amino acids and vitamins. It can be processed into snacks or used as medicine.

2. Can it be grown at home: Potted varieties can be grown indoors. When growing, you need to pay attention to the light intensity. You can place them in sunny places such as balconies and windows.
