How to grow a money tree

How to grow a money tree

1. Maintenance methods

1. Temperature: It likes a well-ventilated and brightly lit environment. The temperature suitable for its development is between 15 and 25 degrees. The minimum temperature for wintering is 5 degrees. If it is lower than 5 degrees, the plant will be frostbitten. Therefore, if grown in the north, the plants are not suitable for wintering outdoors and should be moved into a greenhouse to overwinter.

2. Watering: Water twice a week during the growing period. The amount of water should not be too much each time. Water until the soil is completely moist and there is no water accumulation in the soil. In winter, watering needs to be controlled, about once a week, in order to allow it to safely overwinter.

3. Fertilization: Fertilize once a month during the growing season, with nitrogen fertilizer as the main type of fertilizer. In autumn, in addition to fertilizing the soil, you also need to spray fertilizer on the branches and leaves. The purpose is to improve the cold resistance and increase the probability of safe wintering.

4. Light: When giving it light, use mainly diffuse light. Strong light can easily burn the leaves. The daily light time should not be less than four hours. In winter, you should reduce exposure to sunlight to two to three hours a day.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Reproduction: The general method of reproduction is cutting. Well-developed branches are cut from healthy plants, and then inserted into the prepared cultivation soil. Place them in a cool place for maintenance. After about two weeks, small white spots can be seen on the cut, which means the plant has begun to grow roots.

2. Pruning: During its growth process, it is inevitable that there will be broken branches and leaves. These problematic branches and leaves need to be cut off in order to concentrate nutrients and promote the growth of healthy branches.

3. Problem Diagnosis

1. Pests: The roots of the money tree are easily infected by pests. If you find any, you should dig it out of the soil, disinfect it, and plant it in a new pot.

2. Pathology: It is susceptible to brown spot disease, which often appears on the leaves. To treat brown spot disease, you need to dilute the carbendazim with water. The dilution ratio should be strictly followed according to the instructions, and then spray it directly on the plant.

IV. Other issues

1. Toxicity: It is non-toxic and can be cultivated with confidence.

2. Is it suitable for home cultivation: It is non-toxic, the plant is not very large, and the demand for light is not large. These conditions are more suitable for home cultivation. Moreover, it is emerald green all over, and it is said to attract wealth in Feng Shui. Placing it in the wealth position can improve the family's fortune. Therefore, it can be planted at home.
