How to grow tomatoes

How to grow tomatoes

1. Maintenance methods

1. Substrate selection: It has relatively low requirements for soil. It is best to use loam with a deep soil layer, good drainage and air permeability, and rich in organic matter. Before planting, an appropriate amount of organic fertilizer can be applied as base fertilizer, which is beneficial to the growth and development of the plants and the production of large and full fruits.

2. Light management: It prefers light and has different requirements for light conditions at different stages of growth. It does not require sunlight during the germination period, but should be given sufficient light during the seedling stage and flowering and fruiting period, which is beneficial to the development of seedlings and the fullness of fruits. If the environment does not have enough light, it will easily lead to flower bud differentiation. If the light is too strong for a long time, it will easily cause the fruit to be sunburned.

3. Water management: Its root system is relatively strong and developed, its water absorption capacity is relatively strong, and the water evaporates quickly from its leaves. It is a drought-resistant plant but has a high water requirement. During the seedling stage, you should pay attention to watering in moderation and the soil should not be too wet. When it blooms and bears fruit, you should increase irrigation. Normally, it is watered once every ten days or so. Attention should be paid to drainage. Too wet soil can easily cause root rot, while too dry soil can easily cause the leaves to dry and curl.

4. Temperature management: It likes a warm environment and has relatively poor cold resistance. The temperature condition of 15℃-25℃ is suitable during the seedling stage. If the ambient temperature is lower than 15℃ or higher than 35℃, it will affect its flowering and fruiting.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Reproduction method: Its main reproduction method is sowing. When sowing, it is best to use garden soil and agricultural fertilizer in a 1:1 ratio for the seedling soil. After sowing, the ambient temperature should be maintained at 25℃-30℃ until seedlings emerge, and the ambient temperature should be maintained above 10℃ at night.

2. Flower-promoting methods: If you want to promote flowering and fruiting, you can apply sufficient base fertilizer before planting, apply appropriate topdressing after transplanting, provide sufficient sunlight, and strengthen water and fertilizer management. Nitrogen fertilizer and potassium fertilizer are beneficial to the enlargement and plumpness of the fruit.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Root rot: It has relatively high requirements for water, but it is also necessary to pay attention to timely drainage. Excessive waterlogging can easily lead to root rot.

2. Pests: Its main pests are whiteflies and leaf miners. Once found, pesticides should be used promptly and reasonably to spray them. Appropriate ventilation, cooling and dehumidification measures should be taken at ordinary times for comprehensive prevention and control.

IV. Other issues

1. Placement: The fruit is round and full, with bright red color, and can be planted as a potted plant on the balcony.

2. Flower language: Its flower language is bravery and having ideals.
