How to plant Magnolia grandiflora

How to plant Magnolia grandiflora

1. Selecting seedlings

When planting Magnolia grandiflora trees, be sure to choose seedlings with good root growth and no diseased branches or leaves as planting seedlings. Because such seedlings have stronger growth and adaptability, they have a higher chance of survival after planting. Never choose seedlings whose roots have black rot, as they will be difficult to survive after planting.

2. Land preparation and digging

Choose a location with relatively loose soil and relatively suitable light as the planting site. Then, on it, dig planting pits with a diameter of about 1m and a depth of 50-80cm at a distance of about 2m. If you want to grow them into tall plants, you need to dig holes with a spacing of 5 meters between plants. After digging the hole, turn over the flower soil and apply a small amount of base fertilizer.

3. Planting

Lightly prune the selected seedlings, remove the dry branches and leaves, and treat the cut ends with disinfectant. Then plant it together with the soil ball at the bottom into the newly dug planting hole, fill the soil and compact it, and then water it once to help it take root. After that, keep it warm and shade it when the light is too strong. After a while, it will come to life and start growing.
