What fertilizer is good for eggplant?

Eggplant Fertilization Overview

Eggplant is an annual herb that grows in fields. During the entire growing period, it has a great demand for nitrogen fertilizer and potassium fertilizer, and a relatively small demand for phosphorus fertilizer. For every 1,000 kilograms of eggplant produced, approximately 3.24 kilograms of nitrogen, 0.94 kilograms of phosphorus pentoxide, and 4.49 kilograms of potassium oxide are required.

What fertilizer is good for eggplant?

In order for eggplant to grow longer, it must be fertilized before planting. The amount of base fertilizer accounts for about 1/3 -1/2 of the total fertilizer amount. Generally, organic fertilizers can be chicken manure, horse manure, cow manure, pig manure, etc.

Eggplant is a fertilizer-loving and fertilizer-tolerant crop with a long growing period. In order to obtain high yield, sufficient base fertilizer must be applied before planting, and topdressing is also required multiple times, once every 10-15 days.

How to fertilize eggplant

The main purpose of topdressing for eggplant is to "promote" the plant, to encourage it to grow strong and lay the foundation for flowering and fruiting. The number of topdressing times is high and the concentration is low. The demand for nitrogen fertilizer is very high during the peak fruit-bearing period, but under high temperature weather conditions, the "small amounts and multiple times" fertilization method should be adopted, generally once every 7 days.

Points to note when fertilizing eggplant

1. Yellowing of leaves caused by excessive fertilization or excessive concentration of fertilizer. Generally, the leaf surface is thick and dull, and has bumps and is not stretched. Old leaves turn yellow and fall off. Fertilizing should be stopped immediately. In severe cases, use a large amount of washing to flush out part of the fertilizer.

2. Eggplant is not sensitive to photoperiod, and the length of sunshine time has little effect on its development, so it can receive normal light after fertilizing.
