Lintong pomegranate is a specialty of Lintong District, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province . It is famous for its bright color, large fruit with thin skin, juicy and sweet taste, soft and delicious core, fat seeds with little residue and excellent quality. It is the first of the five famous pomegranates in China and is listed as a treasure among fruits.

Lintong pomegranate is rich in nutrients, including vitamin C, anthocyanins and other trace elements and minerals. It has many functions such as anti-aging, beauty, detoxification, lowering blood lipids, blood sugar and cholesterol.

Where do pomegranates grow?

Pomegranates generally grow on mountains at an altitude of 300-1000 meters , and are widely distributed on the barren slopes on both sides of the Three Rivers in China. The largest planting areas are in Jiangsu and Henan. It likes to grow in warm and humid alkaline loose sandy loam, and needs sufficient nutrition to maintain a strong tree.

Generally speaking, pomegranates mature in autumn , which is between September and October every year . When ripe, the skin is light red or bright red. When you peel off the pomegranate skin, you will find many bright red seeds inside. These seeds are sweet and sour and very delicious. However, if the pomegranates are not stored properly after being picked, they will easily go bad.
