How to transplant peony flowers

How to transplant peony flowers

1. Transplanting time

The best time to transplant peonies is autumn, which is around September to October each year. In relatively warm areas, it can be done in November, but no later than mid-November. If it is transplanted at this time, the harm to it will be less.

2. Transplanting method

1. Prepare the soil: If you are planting in the ground, you need to choose deep and breathable soil; if you are planting in a pot, you need to choose a suitable flower pot and soil. In order to ensure better drainage, a layer of pebbles should be added to the bottom of the pot. The flowerpot should not be too large or too small, and the soil should have good air permeability.

2. Add base fertilizer: In order to enable the plants to grow better, some decomposed organic fertilizer needs to be added to the soil, and mature manure fertilizer can be used. You don't need to add too much to the flowerpot, just about 2-5 pounds of soil for one pot.

3. Transplanting: Dig the plant out of the original soil and remove part of the old soil at the roots. If there are rotten roots, they must be cut off and disinfected before potting. Then plant it in a new potting soil, allowing the roots to stretch out, and cover it with soil.

4. Transplanting and maintenance: Water it once after transplanting, and then place it in a relatively cool place, away from direct sunlight. Wait until it adapts to the light.
