How often should I water my roses?

There are some rules for watering roses. You should water when the soil is dry, and not water when it is not dry. When you water, water thoroughly. Roses are afraid of being flooded. There should not be any water in the pot, as it will easily rot the roots. In midsummer, water should be watered once a day, and water can be applied when the surface of the soil in the pot turns white. In winter, water should be watered less during the dormant period, and the soil should be kept semi-wet. It is best to use soft water, such as boiled water, warm water, etc.

How to water roses

1. Observe the soil in the pot : Whether the rose needs watering can be judged by the dryness and wetness of the soil, because watering the rose needs to follow the principle of "don't water if it's not dry, and water thoroughly if you do." Generally, if you observe that the soil turns white and insert a stick into the soil and then take it out, if the surface of the stick is dry, it means that the rose needs watering.

2. Observe the branches and leaves : Whether the rose needs watering can also be judged by its branches and leaves. When the rose is short of water, its branches and leaves will wilt. At this time, the rose needs to be watered. Otherwise, if the rose is short of water for a long time, it will cause the rose to turn yellow and dry, and in severe cases, the rose will die.

Notes on watering roses

1. Watering in early spring : When the first recovery and greening occurs in early spring, you only need to ensure that the soil is loose and moderately moist. Do not water too frequently. Under normal circumstances, the buds that grow will be thicker and the joints will be shorter.

2. Reduce the amount of watering in winter : Winter is the dormant period of roses. Since the leaves have completely fallen, the demand for water is less. Just try to keep the soil moist and not dry out.

What to do if you water your rose too much

1. Excessive watering will cause water to accumulate at the bottom of the pot, which will cause the root system of the rose to rot and affect the normal growth of the rose. If you water too much, you need to loosen the soil and drain the water in time, and then place the rose in a warm and ventilated environment for maintenance.

2. If the rose's roots are damaged due to excessive watering, you need to trim the roots and repot them. Move the rose out of the pot, wash the roots, cut off the rotten and aging roots, and soak them in a carbendazim solution for 15 to 20 minutes after pruning. After soaking, place the rose in a cool and ventilated place to dry.
