What's wrong with the leaves of Clivia becoming soft? Can the leaves be cut off if they become soft and drooping?

1. Why are the leaves of Clivia becoming soft?

Insufficient water: Clivia requires a certain amount of water supply for normal growth. If it is not watered for a long time or the amount of water is insufficient, its leaves will become soft due to lack of water. You need to replenish water in time, gradually water it thoroughly, increase the frequency of watering appropriately, and wait for it to recover slowly.

Too strong sunlight: Clivia is afraid of strong light. If the light in the environment where it is maintained is relatively strong, its leaves will be burned, and then the leaves will become soft. It needs to be moved to a location with scattered light for maintenance, away from direct sunlight. At noon, it needs additional shade.

The temperature is too low: Clivia is afraid of cold and prefers a warm environment. If the ambient temperature for its maintenance is too low, it will be difficult for it to adapt, resulting in poor growth and the leaves will become soft. The temperature needs to be adjusted artificially. It can be maintained in an air-conditioned room between 18 and 28 degrees Celsius to ensure the supply of water. It will recover after a while.

2. Can the leaves be cut off if they become soft and droopy?

If the leaves of Clivia become soft and drooping, you don’t need to cut them off. The leaves can recover through careful care in the later stage. Because its entire growth process is relatively slow, cutting off the leaves will affect its ornamental value, and it will take a long time for it to grow again.
