How to plant papaya in pots

How to plant papaya in pots

1. Prepare the soil

Before planting, you should prepare a suitable potting soil. The flower pots and soil used should try their best to meet the requirements of air permeability and drainage, and it is best to have small drainage holes at the bottom of the flower pot. If old soil is used for cultivation, it needs to be disinfected before use.

2. Select seeds

After purchasing the papaya, dig out its seeds and pick out the lighter-colored seeds. After taking out the seeds, place them in warm water and soak them for about two days. The mucous membrane on the surface of the seeds also needs to be removed, otherwise it will hinder germination.

3. Start Planting

Plant the processed seeds in potting soil. There should be a certain distance between each seed and they should not be too close. Next, cover the seeds with small gravel and water them once. At this time, the soil should be kept slightly moist.

4. Planting and maintenance

After planting, the potted plants need to be placed in a location with good air circulation and away from direct sunlight. You should spray it with some water every day, but be careful not to soak the seeds. Then it will sprout after about 20 days of maintenance.
