Cultivation methods and precautions of Mengxianglan

Mengxianglan is a kind of orchid with extremely high ornamental value. It can be used to decorate interior spaces. It often emits charming fragrance during flowering, which is particularly pleasant. It is also very simple to cultivate. It is suitable to place a pot in brightly lit places such as desks, windowsills, and bedrooms. It is beautiful.

How to cultivate Mengxianglan

1. Pot soil

Mengxianglan is suitable for planting in pots with good drainage. Its roots are fleshy, so you can choose slightly acidic sandy loam rich in humus for planting, and mix it with a small amount of base fertilizer to facilitate root water absorption and drainage, and promote root growth.

2. Sunlight

Mengxianglan does not like an environment with plenty of sunlight. The most suitable lighting conditions should be a bright environment where the sunlight cannot reach directly, such as an indoor office desk, study, living room, etc. It only needs to be exposed to the morning or evening sunlight occasionally. The sunlight at noon is stronger, so it must not be exposed directly to the sun, otherwise the leaves will turn yellow.

3. Moisture

Mengxianglan likes a humid growing environment, but is not tolerant to waterlogging. Therefore, it cannot be watered too much or too little. It can be watered according to seasonal changes. If it is summer, we need to increase the amount and frequency of watering, and keep the soil in the pot dry in winter.

4. Nutrients

During the growth period of Meng Xianglan, fertilizer can be applied every 15 days, but it should not be applied to the roots. Fertilizer can be applied around the pot, but the plant should not be allowed to touch the fertilizer. Although it has a large demand for fertilizer, it should be applied frequently in small amounts to avoid burning the roots.

Matters Needing Attention in the Maintenance of Mengxianglan

1. Water: Meng Xianglan does not like an overly humid environment, because too much water will form water accumulation at the bottom of the pot, causing the root system of the plant to rot, affecting the growth and development of the plant. Generally, water it thoroughly once the soil is completely dry. Pay attention to the time of watering. In summer, you can choose to do it in the morning, and in other seasons, you should do it at the warmest time of the day in the afternoon.

2. Ventilation: If you want the Dream Orchid to grow healthily, the air circulation must be good. You can open the windows more often for ventilation. Otherwise, once the plant is infected with pests and diseases, it will be difficult to deal with. Especially for plants grown in the office, it is not suitable to spray pesticides, so it should not be placed in a windy place.
