How to grow durian in spring

How to grow durian in spring

1. Supplementary lighting

Adequate light can make durian grow faster, and since it is a tropical plant, it must get enough light. The sunlight in spring is not strong, so you can put it in a sunny place and it is okay to receive sunlight all day. In addition to meeting its needs, proper exposure to light can also increase the temperature of the growth environment. Because the temperature fluctuates greatly in spring and there are often cold snaps, getting more sun can raise the ambient temperature.

2. Apply fertilizer

Durian is a plant that consumes a lot of fertilizer, especially during the growing season in spring. If the nutrients are not sufficient, its growth will not be good in the next year. Choose a comprehensive compound fertilizer or use high-nitrogen fertilizer. When using, it should be applied about five centimeters away from the roots. Not directly on the roots, which can easily cause fertilizer damage. When watering, you can pour it on the fertilizer and let the water carry the fertilizer and diffuse it in the soil. This can speed up the decomposition of nutrients and facilitate plant absorption.

3. Increase watering

It consumes a lot of water in spring, so you need to increase the amount of watering, but it is relatively drought-resistant, so don't water it too frequently. It is enough to water it once a week. If the temperature is too high, you can spray water around it to lower the temperature. When the temperature is low, it is best to water it 2 to 3 times a week.
