How to grow chrysanthemum

How to grow chrysanthemum

1. Soil

It is best to choose loose, breathable and humus-rich soil. This kind of soil is suitable for its growth in terms of drainage and permeability.

2. Temperature

It likes a warm environment, and the most suitable growth temperature is 10-25℃. When the ambient temperature reaches above 30℃, poor growth will occur. Pay attention to keeping it warm in winter to prevent frostbite, withering and other problems.

3. Watering

It is very delicate and can tolerate neither drought nor waterlogging. Do not water too frequently to avoid water accumulation in the pot. During the maintenance process, you only need to ensure that the soil in the pot is slightly moist. Reduce watering in winter and summer, because excessive watering in summer will cause the roots to become stuffy and waterlogged, leading to root rot.

4. Lighting

Chrysanthemum flowers love light and like to grow in a sunny environment. The more sunlight it gets, the more vigorously it grows. If the daily sunlight hours are insufficient, the flowers will be sparse and the color will be dull. Make sure to give it 6-8 hours of light every day. In summer, provide shade to avoid direct sunlight.

5. Fertilization

Fertilize once a month with an appropriate amount of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. Never use unrotted fertilizer as this will cause root damage.

6. Notes

If there is no problem of water accumulation but root rot occurs, it may be that the soil is lacking in the element boron. Applying some boron fertilizer can improve the problem.
