How to grow goldfish flower spider plant to make it bloom?

Goldfish flower spider plant is an indoor plant with extremely high ornamental value. Its flowers are shaped like small goldfish and are brightly colored, and are deeply loved by flower lovers. In order to make the goldfish spider plant bloom smoothly, many friends grow it at home, but if the method is wrong, it will be difficult for it to bloom. Let’s learn together how to grow goldfish plant so that it can bloom.

1. Lighting management

Goldfish Chlorophytum likes light but cannot tolerate direct sunlight and is suitable for a scattered light environment. It is recommended to place it near a bright window or in a semi-shaded area indoors. When the light is weak in autumn and winter, the lighting time can be appropriately increased to promote flowering.

2. Temperature control

The suitable growth temperature for goldfish spider plant is 15℃-25℃, and the temperature in winter should not be lower than 10℃. Keeping the temperature stable and avoiding large temperature differences between day and night will help prolong the flowering period.

3. Watering method

Goldfish plant is drought-resistant, and excessive watering can easily lead to root rot. It is recommended to use small flower pots for planting and water after the surface soil is dry. Keep the soil slightly moist during the spring and summer growing seasons, and reduce watering in autumn and winter.

4. Fertilization management

Apply a thin liquid fertilizer every 2-3 weeks during the growing season, paying attention to the balanced combination of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Apply more phosphorus and potassium fertilizers before flowering to promote flower bud differentiation. After flowering, trim off the remaining flowers and add a small amount of nitrogen fertilizer to help the plant recover.

5. Pruning and pinching

Prune dead leaves and overly long branches in a timely manner to control the plant shape and promote the growth of side branches. Cut off the remaining flowers in time after flowering to reduce nutrient consumption.

6. Increase humidity

Goldfish spider plant likes a humid environment, and the air humidity can be increased by spraying or placing a basin of water. Goldfish plant is drought-resistant and has thick leaves. Excessive watering will cause waterlogging and root rot. It is recommended to water when the soil is almost dry.

In addition, goldfish spider plants are easily invaded by aphids or red spiders. Maintaining good ventilation can prevent diseases and pests. If pests are found, rinse the leaves with clean water or spray with diluted soapy water. Through the above methods, the growth and flowering of goldfish spider plants can be effectively promoted, making them show their best condition.
