How to solve the problem of osmanthus not blooming

1. Ensure dormancy

Reason: When growing osmanthus in winter, if the temperature is above 10℃, it will not be able to enter a dormant state. It will grow new leaves too early and consume more nutrients, causing the plant to grow poorly and affecting its flowering.

Solution: It is best to adjust the temperature to around 3-5℃ so that it can fully hibernate in a low temperature environment. However, when the temperature is low, it should be moved indoors in time so that it can grow better in the coming year.

2. Supplement nutrients

Reason: It likes fertilizer. If no fertilizer is applied for a long time during the breeding period, or the pot is not changed throughout the year, the nutrients in the potting soil will be seriously lacking, which will also affect the flowering of the plant.

Solution: Apply enough base fertilizer every time you pot the plant, and change the pot every 1-2 years so that it has sufficient nutrients to maintain its growth.

3. Increase Lighting

Reason: If you want it to bloom, it needs to see sunlight appropriately. If it lacks light for a long time, it will hinder the differentiation of flower buds of the plant, resulting in the phenomenon of not blooming.

Solution: It should be moved to a sunny place to ensure that the plant can receive as much light as possible, at least 10 hours of sunlight a day.
