Cultivation methods and precautions of Chinese aloe

Cultivation methods and precautions of Chinese aloe

1. Soil

Its roots are sensitive to water, so you need to use soil with good drainage to avoid water accumulation in the soil. Or you can mix expanded clay into the soil to increase drainage.

2. Lighting

It has a relatively large demand for sunlight, especially during the growing season, when it needs at least four hours of strong light exposure every day, and during the non-growing season it also needs at least four hours of diffuse light exposure every day.

3. Temperature

The growth temperature is between 14 degrees and 25 degrees. As long as the temperature is kept within this temperature range, it can grow normally. In winter, you must take precautions against the cold before the temperature drops. There are more cold snaps in spring, and in order to avoid frostbite, you need to wait until the temperature stabilizes before moving the plant outdoors for maintenance.

4. Watering

It is relatively drought-tolerant, but still needs moderate watering when the temperature is high. Generally, it needs to be watered every day. If the temperature is below 15 degrees, watering two to three times a week is sufficient.

5. Fertilization

It grows relatively fast and consumes a lot of nutrients, so it needs appropriate nutrient supplementation. The interval between nutrient supplementation is ten days, and the fertilizer type needs to be mild.

6. Notes

It is not cold-resistant, so warming measures need to be taken in winter. If it is a potted plant, it can be moved home for maintenance. If it is planted in the open field, it needs to be wrapped with old cotton to protect it from the cold.
