Can peonies be grown in Guangxi?

As long as the right planting time is chosen, peonies can be planted in Guangxi. Peonies can be planted in the mountainous areas of Guangxi in autumn. Due to certain differences in temperature from place to place and from year to year, the best planting time for peonies is also different. We can also choose the planting time according to our own conditions.

Peonies prefer warm, cool, dry and sunny environments and are grown in most parts of my country. In Guangxi, as long as you master the planting time, you can grow peonies without choosing special varieties.

Guangxi Peony Planting Technology

1. Lighting

Peonies like sunlight but cannot be exposed to direct sunlight. If planted in the ground, choose a high-lying east-facing location. If grown at home, place them on an east-facing balcony. When the sunlight is strong in summer, proper shade should be provided. If exposed to direct sunlight for a long time, the leaves and flowers will be sunburned and withered, and even the plant will die.

2. Temperature

The suitable temperature for peony is 17-20℃. The plant will go into a dormant state when the temperature is above 25℃. It can withstand as low as -30℃.

3. Watering

When the temperature rises in spring, the peony can be moved outdoors for cultivation. At this time, you need to water it thoroughly and then loosen the soil. Protect the roots when loosening the soil. In the dry north, you can water it more, but not too much. Long-term accumulation of water will cause root rot. Do not water it when the sunlight is too strong at noon in summer. It is best to water it in the early morning and evening. You can add some fertilizer when replenishing water before and after flowering, and use fertilizer water to supplement nutrients to make the flowers bloom more vigorously.

4. Soil

The soil requirements for maintaining peonies are not high. Fertile sandy soil with good drainage is the best. You can also use leaf mold, original soil and river sand to mix to make nutrient soil. No matter what kind of soil is chosen for cultivation, it must be disinfected. You can choose carbendazim for sterilization to reduce the occurrence of diseases and pests.
