How to water the Thousand Buddha Hands

How to water the Thousand Buddha Hands

1. How to judge whether to water

1. Bamboo stick judgment method

In fact, other wooden sticks, thin and hard objects can be used. Choose the tool according to the size of the potting soil, insert it into the soil to a depth of 2/3, pull it out and check the soil attached to the bamboo stick. If the soil is brown and sticks with a lot of mud, it means that the soil is relatively moist and does not need watering. If the bamboo stick is relatively dry and basically covered with clay, it means it is time to water!

2. Basin holding method

This requires years of breeding experience to feel it out! Pick up the pot and if you feel the soil is clear, you can water it!

3. Method for judging whether the surface soil is dry or wet

Generally speaking, if the surface of the soil turns white, it means that the soil is short of water. However, if you peel off the surface of the soil, you can still see moisture. This is what we often call dry. In this case, you can delay watering the Thousand Buddha Hands for 2 to 3 days.

The above three methods have different levels of difficulty. You can choose the one that suits you according to your own situation.

2. Watering Methods

1. Watering methods in spring and summer

The air humidity in the south is higher in spring, while the weather in the north is still hot and cold. Follow the principle of not watering unless the soil is dry.

The sun is strong in summer and the water in the soil evaporates too quickly. You should check the dryness of the soil in the pot regularly to avoid the soil being too dry or the soil temperature being too high. Watering is generally done in the morning or evening, and avoid watering at noon.

2. Watering methods in autumn and winter

The temperature gradually decreases in autumn, and the Thousand Buddha Hand enters its peak growth season. The amount of watering at this time is the same as in spring. Do not water unless the soil in the pot is dry. Keep the soil in the pot moist at all times.

The winter is cold and dry, and the plants will slowly enter a dormant period. When caring for it indoors, you can water it normally when the temperature is high. If the temperature is low, you must strictly control the watering to avoid a decrease in the plant's resistance and drought resistance.
