Reasons why the tips of gardenia leaves turn brown

Reasons why the tips of gardenia leaves turn brown

1. Excessive watering

Reason: The leaf tips of gardenia become dry and brown, which may be caused by unreasonable water application. When too much water is given, water will accumulate in the root system, making it difficult to breathe. Once the roots rot, the entire growth will naturally have problems.

Solution: When you find this situation, you need to stop watering immediately. If it is convenient to operate, you can take out the soil in the flowerpot and place it in a ventilated place to promote water evaporation. If conditions do not permit, you can place the pot in a well-ventilated place.

2. Improper lighting

Reason: Light is also an important aspect of growth. When the light is too strong or too weak, the growth of gardenia will be affected and the leaf tips will dry up accordingly.

Solution: Provide sunlight reasonably. When there is a lack of light, place it in a well-lit place to supplement the sunlight. When the light is too strong, it needs to be moved to a cool place and sprayed with water to promote recovery.

3. Improper fertilization

Reason: Fertilizing too heavily can also cause root problems, which will naturally cause the leaf tips to dry out.

Solution: Stop fertilizing immediately and irrigate to dilute the fertilizer effect.

4. Pests and diseases

Cause: Problems during maintenance lead to infection by pests and diseases, which will cause damage to the leaves.

Solution: Improve air circulation and spray medicine for treatment in time.
