How to plant big pompoms

1. Planting time

It is usually propagated by sowing in autumn between September and October, and can also be divided in summer. The temperature and environment of these two seasons are very conducive to the rooting and growth of plants.

2. Prepare the soil

Its seeds are very small and do not need to be soaked before planting, but loose, fertile soil must be prepared. You can mix garden soil with river sand, or you can mix leaf mold with river sand. This will improve air permeability and promote the seeds to germinate as soon as possible.

3. Broadcasting and planting

After the soil is prepared, you can sow the seeds on it. The seeds should be full and evenly sown. After sowing, cover it with two centimeters of soil. Then water it every three to five days to keep it moist. Place it under diffuse light and it will take root and sprout in the spring of the following year.

4. Post-management

If it is planted by sowing in autumn, the temperature will drop later, so it needs more sunlight to keep warm, or cover it with a layer of plastic film and poke a few small holes for ventilation. However, the temperature still needs to be controlled in winter. The temperature must not be lower than 15 degrees to avoid frostbite and affect rooting.
