How to grow bougainvillea

1. Watering

During the maintenance period, the soil should be kept moist, but water should not accumulate, otherwise the roots will easily rot. When watering normally, you should wait until the soil is dry and then water it thoroughly all at once. However, you should control the watering during the flowering period and wait until the leaves droop before replenishing water. Continue for half a month and then manage it normally to make the flowers bloom more evenly.

2. Lighting

It likes light and needs 9 hours of sunlight every day during the growing season. If there is not enough light, the growth rate will slow down and flowering will be affected. In winter, it should also be placed in a well-lit place and get more sun.

3. Soil

When breeding, it is best to use soil with good drainage and ventilation, as well as certain nutrients. You can mix humus, sand and garden soil to promote growth. It should be noted that the soil must not be alkaline, otherwise it will be unfavorable for growth.

4. Fertilization

During the growth period, low-concentration fertilizers should be added frequently. Only with sufficient nutrients can the plant grow more vigorously. Add more phosphorus and potassium fertilizers before flowering to promote flowering and prolong the flowering period.

5. Temperature

Normally, the temperature should be between 15 and 30 degrees. In summer, it should be able to withstand a high temperature of 35 degrees. If the temperature exceeds this, it should be cooled down and watered more for ventilation. The temperature in winter must be above 5 degrees, otherwise it is easy to get frostbite.
