The correct way to raise black fish

The correct way to raise black fish

Breeding is a common type of business. In addition to breeding some common livestock and poultry, you can also breed various types of aquatic products, such as freshwater fish. Let’s learn the correct way to raise black fish today.

1. Preparation of breeding pond

1. Pond site selection and construction

Choose a location with good lighting, ventilation, and convenient water access. The pond area should be 1-2 acres, the pond depth should be 2-2.5 meters, and the water depth should be 1-1.5 meters. The bottom of the pond is muddy, and the depth of the silt does not exceed 10 cm. Aquatic plants such as water hyacinth and water lily are planted around it, which can not only block the sunlight but also purify the water quality. Anti-escape nets should be installed at the inlets and outlets to prevent the snakehead fish from escaping.

2. Pond disinfection

Half a month before stocking, drain the pond water, use quicklime (130-150 kg per mu) mixed with water to spray for disinfection, turn over the silt at the bottom of the pond, and inject new water to a depth of 1 meter after 3 days.

2. Fish species selection and stocking

1. Fish species selection

Choose healthy, pest-free, uniform fry, preferably fish of the current year with a body length of 10-15 cm and a weight of 60-100 grams. Before stocking, soak the fish in 3%-5% salt water for 10-15 minutes for disinfection.

2. Stocking density

1500-2500 fish weighing 10-15 grams per fish are stocked per mu, and 200-250 larger silver carp can be appropriately raised.

3. Feeding

1. Feed selection

Snakehead carp is a carnivorous fish, mainly fed with fresh baits such as small fish and shrimps, and artificial compound feed can also be used. The bait must be fresh and the protein content should be above 40%.

2. Feeding method

Feed twice a day, at 8-9 am and 4-5 pm. The feeding amount is adjusted according to the season, 8%-10% of the fish body weight in the peak feeding season and 3%-4% in the off-season.

4. Water Quality Management

1. Water quality requirements

The water quality should remain clear and transparent, with a pH value of 7.0-8.0, a water temperature of 16℃-30℃, and dissolved oxygen above 3.0mg/L. Change the pool water regularly. Change 1/3 of the water every 3 days during the hot season. Spray quicklime water every week to improve the water quality.

2. Oxygenation measures

The aerator needs to be turned on at 2 pm every day and in the evenings on hot and humid days.

5. Daily Management

1. Observation and recording

Regularly observe the feeding and activity of snakehead fish, record growth data, and identify and handle problems in a timely manner.

2. Capture the big ones and keep the small ones

Large-sized snakehead fish are caught regularly and fed in separate ponds to avoid cannibalism.

6. Disease prevention and control

1. Common diseases

Ichthyophthirius infection: When small white spots appear on the surface of the fish, you can sprinkle the fish with water boiled with chili powder and dried ginger slices.

Saprolegniasis: Cotton-like colonies appear on the surface of fish, which can be disinfected with quicklime or bleaching powder.

2. Preventive measures

Disinfect the pond regularly to keep the water clean and avoid injury to the fish.

The above are the technical points of black carp farming . Through scientific management, the success rate and economic benefits of black carp farming can be effectively improved.
