1. Cutting method1. Time: Anthurium cuttings are mainly carried out in spring, around April to May. Generally, it can be carried out as long as the temperature is suitable, especially avoiding it in midsummer and severe winter. 2. Cuttings: Prepare branches or healthy leaves for cuttings in advance. If you use branch cuttings, it is best to have 1-2 stem nodes, otherwise the chance of growing new roots will decrease. The branches need to grow well enough so that they will be easier to root after cuttings. 3. Cuttings: Before proceeding, apply a small amount of rooting powder on the cuttings or the cut ends of the leaves. Insert it upright into the cultivation medium, ensure a rooting environment of 25-35℃, spray it with water appropriately at ordinary times, and new roots will sprout after a few weeks. 2. Can the cut branches be used for cuttings? It is best not to use the branches you cut off for cuttings, because they do not meet the requirements of cuttings and are difficult to survive. The branches used for cuttings must be strong enough and have 1-2 nodes. The branches we usually cut are relatively weak or diseased branches that have been infested by insects. Such branches are not easy to grow roots after cuttings and may also contaminate the cultivation soil. |
