How to transplant Clivia: seedling transplanting methods and precautions

How to transplant Clivia: seedling transplanting methods and precautions

1. Seedling transplanting method

1. Transplanting time: Seedling transplanting usually takes place about two months after seedling cultivation. It is best to transplant when the new roots of the seedlings grow to 5-6cm. When it grows to 8 cm or longer, transplanting will become more difficult.

2. Transplanting: During this process, hold the lower part of the seedling with both hands to avoid pulling its fruit. If the fruit is accidentally dropped, it will hinder its later growth.

3. Prepare the potting soil: Use slightly moist potting soil, and disinfect the potting soil before transplanting. You can scald it with boiling water, which can also achieve the effect of sterilization.

4. Transplanting: prepare a chopstick, insert it into the soil in the pot and make a hole. Put the roots of the seedlings in, try to make the fruits face the same direction, and finally compact the soil around them.

2. Precautions

The new roots of the seedlings should not come into contact with humus soil, and some sawdust should be added. If its root system is 1 cm, then 1.5 cm thick sawdust should be placed. When the seedlings grow out of the leaf bank, you can remove the sawdust and add some humus soil. After transplanting, you need to water the plants once to wash away some bacteria and allow the roots of the seedlings to have better contact with the soil.
