How to grow a small fortune tree to make it flourish and how to water it

1. Suitable lighting

Although it is a relatively shade-tolerant plant, it will grow more vigorously and its leaves will be greener if given appropriate diffuse light, especially the young seedlings. It should be maintained in a well-lit place, receiving three to four hours of sunlight a day in spring and autumn. It should be shaded in summer and strong sunlight is strictly prohibited. The light is mild in winter, so you can get more sun.

2. Apply fertilizer appropriately

It likes fertilizer, so it is necessary to apply fertilizer frequently to supplement nutrients during the growth stage, but the concentration of the fertilizer should not be too high. It is best to apply thin fertilizer frequently, once every half a month, so that it can grow faster and more vigorously.

3. Suitable temperature

It likes a warm environment and the temperature should not be too low in winter. It is best to keep it above 15 degrees. Especially for young seedlings, if the temperature is low, yellow leaves will easily occur, affecting their later growth.

4. Pest Control

It is easy to cause harm from mites and scabies during its growth period. When discovered, it is necessary to spray medicine to eliminate them in time, otherwise it will also affect its growth.

5. Water appropriately

It does not require a lot of water, but it cannot be too dry during the growing season. Therefore, you should observe the soil before watering. If it is moist, you don’t need to water it. If it is completely dry, you should water it appropriately. Be careful not to have water accumulation in the potting soil. Once water accumulates, the roots will easily rot. The root system of a small money tree is very shallow, so it is better to keep it dry rather than wet when watering.
