How to grow crabapple in spring

How to grow crabapple in spring

1. Temperature

The most suitable temperature for crabapple flowers is 18 to 20 degrees. Therefore, the temperature in early spring is too low for it, so it is usually cared for indoors. As the temperature gradually rises, you can slowly put it outdoors. But the temperature cannot be too high, otherwise some diseases will easily occur.

2. Water

In spring, water the crabapple in moderation as it is afraid of waterlogging. Generally speaking, it is best to keep the soil slightly moist or slightly dry. If there is a lot of rain, you should also prevent water from accumulating in the pot and avoid getting exposed to rain.

3. Fertilizer

In spring, crabapples are in their most active growth season, so they need some fertilizer. It can be applied once every ten days, using cake fertilizer water as fertilizer. Be careful not to get fertilizer on the leaves.

4. Lighting

Begonias prefer light and should be placed in a place with sufficient scattered light. In late spring when the temperature is high and the light is strong, you can provide appropriate shade.

5. Repotting and pruning

Begonias need to be repotted once a year, preferably in spring. You can change to a larger pot that matches its current size, and replace the old soil with new soil. When repotting, appropriate pruning should be done. In addition to pruning the roots, the lower branches should also be pruned, such as sick and weak branches, overlapping branches, etc.
