Tomato planting technology

Tomato planting technology

1. Variety selection

It is best to choose large tomato varieties, such as "Big Boy" and "Brandy", which are easy to survive and easy to grow. Multiple varieties can be planted at one time. It is recommended to buy seedlings directly for transplanting. If you are starting from seeds, you will need to plant them near a window for about a day before transplanting.

2. Start transplanting

A sufficient amount of fully fermented base fertilizer should be mixed into the soil, because tomatoes need sufficient nutrients to grow. Then, bury the seedlings in the soil. Try to plant it as deep as possible, with 50 to 75 percent of its height buried in the soil, even if there are some leaves. After that, pay special attention to the growth of the roots.

3. Watering method

Water the plants about ten minutes after planting. Pay attention to the water temperature, around 27 degrees is best. Water every day for the next week to ten days. After ten days, watering should be reduced. After two weeks, water two to three times a week. Drip irrigation method can be used. If the weather is dry during this period, you can water it more as appropriate.

4. Fertilization method

It is best to use fertilizers that promote fruit growth and are specifically for vegetables. Do not use fertilizers randomly. Don't use too much, otherwise the plants will become prone to disease and insects.

5. Provide shade

If the light is too strong or the temperature is too high, provide shade between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
