Cultivation methods and precautions of five-color red camellia

The five-color red camellia is a relatively easy-to-grow flower plant. Whether you are an old hand or a novice, it will not be too difficult to grow it. However, it should be noted that the ground-planted five-color red camellia cannot be grown on the alkaline soil in the north, so it is best to buy suitable soil for potted cultivation.

Cultivation method of five-color red camellia

1. Choose a pot

When cultivating the five-color red camellia, you must pay attention to the fact that the size of the flowerpot must match the size of the camellia plant. Do not plant a large seedling in a small pot. Generally, a flowerpot with a diameter of 20 cm is appropriate. It is also not recommended to use ceramic pots that have poor air permeability and are prone to water accumulation.

2. Soil

Camellia sinensis is a flower plant that prefers fine, slightly acidic soil, so when choosing soil, it is recommended to use pine needle soil and leaf mold, or mix garden soil, leaf mold and compost soil in a ratio of 4:3:3.

3. Repotting

The five-color red camellia needs to be repotted regularly. Generally speaking, it is more suitable to do so in spring and autumn, or it can also be done during the rainy season. If it is a large or medium-sized five-color red camellia, it only needs to be repotted once every 2 or 3 years, while for a small five-color red camellia, it only needs to be repotted once every 1-2 years.

4. Watering

In order to ensure the humidity of the plant's growth environment, you should often spray water on the leaves, and follow the principle of watering when the soil is dry and wet, so that the potting soil is always moist.

Precautions for the maintenance of five-color red camellia

1. Lighting

The five-color red camellia likes a semi-shaded environment, so in the summer, you need to provide appropriate shade for the camellia, and just expose it to some scattered light at other times.

2. Fertilization

The five-color red camellia is a plant that likes fertilizer. You can apply more decomposed cake fertilizer at ordinary times. This can effectively prevent the yellowing of leaves caused by alkalinization of the potting soil. You can also add a small amount of ferrous sulfate to promote more spring buds and enhance its reproductive ability.
