Cultivation methods and precautions of lotus orchid

Cymbidium is easy to grow. It grows very fast, has good adaptability, and is relatively simple to plant. The key to growing Cymbidium is to provide soft sunlight and avoid direct sunlight. It grows vigorously under diffuse light conditions.

How to cultivate lotus orchid

1. Temperature

Cymbidium is an orchid variety that blooms in early spring. Its growth temperature is basically the same as other orchid species, but Cymbidium is more resistant to low temperatures and often has no problem with temperatures close to 0 degrees in a short period of time. The suitable temperature during the growth period is 15-20 degrees.

2. Humidity

Cymbidium has high requirements for environmental humidity. Under normal circumstances, the relative air humidity should reach about 65%-70%. When the air is dry, you can increase the air humidity by sprinkling water or spraying on the ground, space, orchid racks, and walls.

3. Lighting

Although Cymbidium loves sunlight, it cannot tolerate exposure. In order to prevent the orchid from being exposed to strong light, a sunshade net should be hung on the inside of the balcony. Especially in the hot summer, the flower pots should be placed in a place with scattered light.

4. Ventilation

Growing Cymbidium in a humid or hot environment will cause great damage to its growth. The plant will wilt and become listless, and it is very likely to cause root rot, black spot, anthracnose and stem rot, as well as insect pests. It is necessary to open all windows when the weather is fine and the temperature is suitable to facilitate air convection.

Precautions for the maintenance of lotus orchid

1. Temperature: Cymbidium is suitable for growing in an environment with a large temperature difference between day and night. It can tolerate a minimum temperature of -2 degrees and a high temperature of 35 degrees. The best growth temperature is 9-18 degrees. When the temperature in winter is below 5 degrees, it needs to be moved indoors for maintenance.

2. Water: Cymbidium likes a humid environment, but is not tolerant to watering. Wait until the soil surface becomes dry before watering. The number of watering should change according to the season. In summer, the temperature is high and evaporation is fast, so you can water more. In winter, the temperature is low, so you need to reduce watering.
