When is the best time to transplant Chinese cabbage?

Transplanting Chinese cabbage is relatively easy. The day before transplanting, you can water the cabbage seedlings first to facilitate transplanting the next day without damaging the root system. Apply base fertilizer before transplanting. The amount used depends on the different soil fertility, generally 500kg of farmyard manure or 30kg of compound fertilizer per mu.

Transplanting time of Chinese cabbage

The best time to transplant cabbage is from August to September every autumn. When transplanting cabbage, you need to plow the soil first to make it looser. You also need to select healthy and well-growing cabbage for transplanting, and water the cabbage once a day to keep the soil moist, which is more conducive to the cabbage to adapt to the environment quickly.

Transplanting method of Chinese cabbage

When transplanting Chinese cabbage, it is best to choose a plot with high terrain, convenient irrigation and drainage, and fertile soil. You can use row sowing or broadcast sowing, and the sowing amount per acre of seedbed is about 200 grams. If the soil has sufficient moisture or has been fully watered before sowing, it is best not to water during the germination period to prevent the seedlings from being damaged. When transplanting, be sure to water it with plenty of water on the first day, and cut it into lumps of soil and transplant it on the second day. When cutting the soil lumps, be careful not to damage the roots of the cabbage to ensure the survival rate of the cabbage.

Management of Chinese cabbage after transplanting

1. Temperature and moisture:

Cabbage is relatively easy to grow after transplanting. Temperature and water are the main factors affecting its survival after transplanting. In spring, the low temperature will cause the seedlings to be difficult to survive. Maintaining a suitable temperature is the key to the growth of cabbage after transplanting. Pay attention to watering thoroughly every time you water it. Generally, water the seedlings again every 3 to 5 days to help the seedlings adapt.

2. Fertilization and pest control:

After transplanting the cabbage, normal field management needs to be carried out in time. Water and apply fertilizer once when rosette leaves and heart appear respectively. At the same time, disease and pest prevention work needs to be done well, so that the cabbage will grow well after transplanting.
