Cultivation methods and precautions of five-petal plum

Cultivation methods and precautions of five-petal plum

The five-petal plum is relatively easy to grow. As long as it is well maintained, it can bloom better. Moreover, its flowering period is relatively long, from spring to autumn, and even in the cold winter, so it has a relatively high ornamental value.

Cultivation method of five-petal plum

1. Soil

To cultivate five-petal plum, you need to use loose, breathable, humus-rich sandy loam. You can mix river sand, leaf mold, peat soil, thick garden soil, and base fertilizer to make the culture soil, so that the five-petal plum can grow better.

2. Lighting

The five-petal plum likes sunlight but should avoid direct sunlight. In summer and autumn when the sunlight is strong, it should be shaded or placed in a place with sufficient scattered light indoors. In winter and spring, the indoor light is weak, so the light should be increased and it should be released outdoors regularly to receive sunlight when the sun is warm at noon.

3. Temperature

The most suitable growth temperature for the five-petal plum is 20-33℃. When the temperature is higher than 33℃, you can spray water on the surrounding environment and the plants to cool them down. When the temperature is lower than 15℃, place them in a warm place indoors to prevent the plants from stopping growing and being frostbitten when the temperature is lower than 5℃.

Five-petal plum maintenance precautions

When caring for the five-petal plum, you must pay attention to proper pruning. Because the stems and leaves of the five-petal plum grow very fast, they will consume most of the nutrients and water of the mother plant, so the flower buds that grow will fall off prematurely and will not bloom normally.
