Daffodil seed dispersal

When the fruit of daffodils is ripe, it will crack open and the seeds will naturally spread out. In addition, after animals eat the seeds, they will excrete them in their feces, which can also spread the seeds. However, since the daffodils in my country are usually sterile varieties, they basically have no seeds, and the seeds that do exist are very shriveled, so there is no need to spread them.

Planting daffodil seeds

1. Growth process : In the first year, the seeds germinate, grow leaves, give birth to bulbs, and go dormant. In the second year, the bulbs germinate, grow leaves, give birth to bulbs, and go dormant. The third year is basically the same as the second year. In the fourth year, the mature bulbs germinate, grow leaves, bloom, give birth to bulbs, and go dormant.

2. Time : Daffodils are generally not propagated by sowing. Side bulb propagation is a common method, which can usually be carried out from the end of September to October. The best time is after November every year.

3. Method : Narcissus seeds are difficult to plant and not easy to obtain. They are generally planted hydroponically. First, clean the seeds and then put them into a hydroponic cover. Put the hydroponic cover into a fish tank filled with water. Check the water position to make sure it reaches the roots but not all of them are submerged. Then remove the hydroponic cover and put in a few colored stones. Change the water regularly.
