How to cultivate golden tiger cactus

1. Fertilization

The Golden Tiger Cactus does not have too high requirements for fertility and is very resistant to barrenness. If you want the plant to grow better, you can apply top dressing during the growing season in spring and autumn. Use dilute light fertilizer water and it is best to fertilize together with watering.

2. Lighting

The Golden Tiger Cactus is a sun-loving plant and cannot grow in a dark and enclosed space. It is suitable to be grown in a sunny place. If it is shaded for a long time, it will grow tall and not bloom. It needs scattered light indoors.

3. Soil

The Golden Tiger Cactus likes loose and breathable sandy soil. You can choose soil, leaf mold, and coarse sand, and mix them evenly in a ratio of 3:5:2 as the culture soil. Sandy soil is good for drainage and is more conducive to the growth of cactus.

4. Watering

Although the Golden Tiger Cactus has a certain degree of drought resistance, it does not mean that it does not need watering. Some Golden Tiger Cactus never grow bigger or even shrink, which is related to the lack of watering for a long time. The Golden Tiger Cactus should be given sufficient water during the growing season in spring and autumn, and reduce watering during the dormant period in winter and summer.

5. Temperature

The Golden Tiger Cactus prefers a warm growing environment, and grows best at a temperature of 20℃-25℃. It is not resistant to low temperatures. If the temperature is below 5 degrees, the Golden Tiger Cactus can be moved into a warm place indoors, keep the soil in the pot dry, and avoid direct cold wind.

Precautions for the maintenance of Golden Tiger Cactus

The Golden Tiger Cactus grows fast and the potting soil needs to be replaced every 1-2 years of cultivation. It should be transplanted into a larger pot. It is best to transplant it during the dormant period, trim off the rotten, decayed and dead roots, prepare new cultivation soil rich in humus, and pot it after exposing it to the sun for sterilization.

The Golden Tiger Cactus should be grown indoors in winter and can be placed on a sunny windowsill. After a period of time, rotate the flowerpot to allow all parts of the plant to receive light evenly. When the plant is exposed to direct sunlight in midsummer, provide appropriate shade.
