Aloe is a herbaceous plant of the Liliaceae family of the Liliales order. It is a common plant with extremely high edible value, health value, medicinal value and cosmetic value. The main reproduction methods of aloe are division reproduction, cutting reproduction and transplanting, among which cuttings have a fast rooting speed. 1. Cutting time Aloe vera cannot be propagated by cuttings at any time. It is easy for aloe vera to take root in an environment above 20 degrees, and too low a temperature may cause frostbite on the cuttings. Therefore, the best time for aloe vera is in April and May when the temperature can be stabilized above 20 degrees. 2. Cutting steps Preparation of soil pots: Aloe vera cuttings require loose, breathable, and well-drained soil, so it is recommended to choose humus soil and add some ash or fine sand. The prepared soil should be exposed to the sun for disinfection. There are no requirements for the flower pots, as long as they are suitable for the size of the aloe vera. Prepare cuttings: Select a healthy aloe plant, take it out of the container, clean the soil on the plant, then cut a mature leaf about eight centimeters long from the plant as a cutting. Note that the cut leaves should be placed in a well-ventilated place to dry for a while, and then put them in pots after the wound has dried. Cutting method: In order to make aloe vera take root faster, you can apply rooting powder on the wound of the cuttings before cuttings, poke a hole in the soil with a wooden stick, and then insert the cuttings obliquely, one-third of the way into the soil, and do not insert them too deep or too shallow. 3. Maintenance Aloe vera cannot be watered right after it is grafted. Place it in a warm, ventilated and suitable environment with diffuse light. It can be watered four or five days after the cuttings. Watering should follow the principle of watering when the soil is dry and avoid overwatering. |
