Saffron cultivation methods and precautions

Saffron cultivation methods and precautions

Saffron has strong resistance to adversity and is very easy to grow. It is not prone to excessive growth. Saffron has a high demand for light, so it is suitable for growing in places with sufficient light. It does not require a lot of water.

How to grow saffron

1. Soil

Saffron chooses nutrient-rich, loose and fertile soil, which can provide a relatively sufficient nutrient for the saffron's later flowering and is conducive to its growth.

2. Lighting

Saffron has a relatively high demand for light. If it is kept in a dark and lightless place for a long time, it will grow very weak and will be unable to differentiate into flower buds and flower buds.

3. Watering

Saffron is not tolerant to drought and waterlogging, so during normal maintenance, you must control the amount of watering and keep the soil slightly moist. Generally, it is sufficient to water it thoroughly once the soil in the pot is dry.

Saffron maintenance precautions

When caring for saffron, you must pay attention to fertilizing, because saffron likes fertilizer, so during the growing season, you need to apply nutrient-rich compound fertilizer every half a month. When flower buds begin to grow, stop fertilizing immediately, and then apply a balanced quick-acting fertilizer with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium after the flowering period.
