How to repot Margaret

How to repot Margaret

1. Change to a larger basin

1. Take the plant out of the pot and you will see that the roots are entangled with each other and there is basically no soil.

2. In order to allow it to grow again, you need to gently pull off the hardened parts of the roots, and then you can plant it. This is not necessary if the roots are not old and sparse.

3. Place the prepared nutrient soil in one-third of the pot.

4. Next, you can put the prepared plants into the soil, fill them with soil, and make sure there are no gaps around them. At this time, you can press them lightly with a small stick.

5. After planting it, you can press it hard with your hands. Remember not to let the soil pile up too much. Leave a certain water reservoir, usually 3 cm is enough.

6. In order to prevent it from rotting due to the heat, you can top it after planting it, which can encourage it to grow more branches.

7. After planting and topping, you can water it appropriately. Avoid watering too hard, otherwise it will wash out big holes on the surface of the soil.

2. Change to a pot of the same size

If you are changing to a flowerpot of the same size, the steps are actually similar to the above. Just remove a part of the roots in the second step, so that there will be more room for new soil. But it should be noted that because most of the roots are removed, the ability to absorb water becomes weaker, so the upper branches should be properly pruned, and all yellow or overly long branches should be cut off to prevent the loss of water and nutrients.

3. Notes

When repotting, cut off the black or rotten roots and keep the white roots. In addition, when removing the plant from the pot, do not let the soil in the pot become too dry, otherwise it will easily damage the root system. It is recommended to water the plant appropriately. It is best to keep the soil in the pot moist before removing the plant from the pot.
