What fertilizer to use for the succulent Tears of Lover (cultivation methods and precautions for the succulent Tears of Lover)

First, maintain the soil

The soil for caring for Lover's Tears must be loose and breathable, have good drainage, be slightly acidic, and have light fertilizer requirements in order to achieve healthy growth.

It is recommended to use soil with a smaller particle structure for planting Lover's Tears, which can better coordinate water, air and temperature.

Use volcanic rock and perlite about the size of sesame to half the size of soybean to mix the granular planting material. Then add the honeycomb coal powder and humus soil mixture.

The granular structure of the soil accounts for about 60% of the soil. The granular planting material is conducive to drainage and water evaporation, which can make the soil achieve the purpose of alternating between dry and wet more quickly.

Second, maintain the environment

When caring for Lover's Tears, it is best to maintain the optimal growth temperature so that it can grow faster. If the temperature is lower than 10 degrees Celsius or higher than 30 degrees Celsius, the growth will stagnate and enter a dormant period.

If the root system cannot absorb water, the leaves will consume a lot of water, and the root system's absorption and leaf evaporation will be unbalanced. The leaves will wilt and shrivel. If you want the leaves of the Tears of Lover to be round and full, you must ensure that the temperature is appropriate.

The Tears of Love succulent plant does not like direct sunlight, but prefers bright scattered light. It can be kept in a very bright place and should not be exposed to the sun, which will cause the beads to turn gray-brown and become shriveled and wrinkled.

It should also not be placed in a place that is too shady. If there is insufficient light, the tears of lovers will grow too tall, and the beads will become sparse and thin and not round. A suitable lighting environment can make its beads become plump and full.

Third, water appropriately

Lover's tears likes moisture and avoids waterlogging. Water according to the dryness and humidity of the pot soil. It is also necessary to spray water on the vines to increase humidity and replenish water on the leaves. You can wash away the dust on the vines, so that the leaves of the lover's tears are clean and watery.

The way of watering depends on the dryness and wetness of the soil, and you should "not water if it is not dry, and water thoroughly if it is". However, the flower soil needs to be relatively dry. This can avoid the situation where the stems grow too long and the leaves become too long.

Specific watering method

When the surface soil of the flower soil is dry, water it thoroughly about once a week. If the flower soil is dry during this period, you can spray it to keep the soil slightly moist and wet the stems and leaves.

Fourth, fertilization method

Fertilization is an essential part of the maintenance of Lover's Tears. The supplementary fertilizers are mainly composed of the three elements of "nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium".

The common method of fertilization is to use organic fertilizer. Lover's tears grows in a creeping manner and covers the entire surface of the pot. It is not recommended to use solid organic fertilizer for fertilization.

When organic fertilizer is splashed by water and falls on the leaves, burnt spots will appear, making the wounds susceptible to bacterial infection.

Fertilization is mainly done with "organic fertilizer water", and fertilization should be done with "thin fertilizer and frequent application". Concentrated fertilizer will burn the roots and leaves.

It is most suitable to dilute the fermented "rice water" with water to a concentration of about 1:3 to 1:5 for irrigation. On the third day after fertilizing, use a spray to rinse the leaves and stems until the spray forms water droplets and falls into the soil.

Fifth, pruning method

The growth surface of the pot of Lover's Tears is rather messy. After planting it for a period of time, when the stems begin to hang down, you can properly comb the stems growing in the pot.

Select a few thick stems, first use red brick slag to raise them a little, not sticking to the soil, and then determine the growth direction. Leave a stem about 3 to 5 cm apart. It will be more beautiful when it is hanging down.

Then trim the adventitious buds and some dense branches in the flowerpot to reduce nutrient consumption, concentrate nutrients on healthy branches, ensure sufficient nutrient supply, speed up the growth of branches, and make the leaves thicker and fuller.
