How many years does it take for Jade Tree to bloom (Flowering conditions and maintenance methods of Jade Tree potted plants)

How to care for jade tree so that it can bloom

If you want the jade plant to bloom, you must have a large enough jade plant. If you have kept it for several years and it still hasn't bloomed. In addition, the flowering of the jade plant requires certain conditions. Generally, it will not bloom if it has been kept for one or two years.

First, timeliness:

Among the jade trees I have seen, the older the jade trees are, the stronger their flowering ability is. The old jade trees that I have seen flowering are at least 5 years old, and they do not bloom every year, but bloom in a pattern of abundant and reduced years .

It takes at least 5 to 6 years for Jade Plant to bloom, based on leaf cuttings. Some plants may bloom after 7 to 8 years, and of course there are some that may not bloom for more than 10 years.

Second, the flowering of old jade trees was artificially intervened:

(1) Lighting:

Jade tree has good shade tolerance, so it is misunderstood as a short-day plant. In fact, the origin of jade tree is also on the edge of the desert, and it is a light-loving plant.

For light-loving plants to bloom, they need a certain lighting period, and the best lighting period is about 8 hours a day.

For home maintenance, it needs bright diffuse light, at least 5 hours of light per day. It will not bloom in dim conditions or less than 3 hours of light.

(2) Root removal of strong trees:

There is a problem of reproductive growth. The strong jade plant changed its growth pattern during the recovery growth phase after its roots were cut off, forcing it to transform into reproductive growth and bloom on its own when its life was once threatened.

(3) Fertilization method to promote flowering:

When caring for flowers, fertilization is indispensable. Fertilization mainly targets the three elements of "nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium".

"Nitrogen" can promote the growth of branches and leaves and latent buds, and "phosphorus and potassium" can promote root growth and promote flowering.

When we care for plants, we should pay attention to fertilizing during the growth stage.

Daily fertilization can provide balanced nutrients, but during the flowering period, it is necessary to focus on phosphorus and potassium. So most of the jade trees are very old, but they don't bloom.

Before flowering, we can use "potassium dihydrogen phosphate" to spray the leaves and trunks to promote the efficiency of nutrient absorption and consumption. At the same time, the higher content of phosphorus and potassium can also promote flowering.
