Do you need to cook soybeans to make fertilizer? (Can soybeans be directly put into the soil as fertilizer?)

Soybeans are a relatively good oil crop and are used to extract oil for consumption. The remaining bean cake is a relatively good livestock feed, and some people also use it as organic fertilizer.

Sometimes soybeans may become moldy or barren due to heavy rain or drought, or be eaten by insects. Such soybeans have a low oil content and are generally not used for oil extraction. So how should we deal with them?

Many people grow ginger here. They cook the unused soybeans and use them as organic fertilizer to feed the ginger.

Before using the cooked soybeans, we put the cooked soybeans in a piece of film while they are still hot, then wrap them up and place them in a sunny place outdoors to ferment. We use them when the soybeans are rotten, red, and sticky .

Some pesticides are also added during use, such as avermectin, trichlorfon, thiamethoxam granules, etc.

The purpose of fermentation and pesticide application is:

1. Cooked soybeans are used as organic fertilizers. If they are not fermented, they will ferment in the soil, generating heat that will burn the roots and seeds.

2. If the organic matter in soybeans is not fermented in advance, it will also ferment when it is used in the soil. However, due to the low soil temperature, the fermentation and decomposition time will be very long, the utilization rate of the current season's crops will be poor, and the fertilizer efficiency will be low.

Fermentation and composting in advance will greatly shorten the time, improve the fertilizer efficiency, and release nutrients as soon as possible.

3. When cooked soybeans ferment and decompose in the soil, they will inevitably compete with the seedlings for water, nutrients, etc., and will also release toxic gases such as ammonia, which will harm the seedlings .

4. The organic matter in organic fertilizers such as cooked soybeans is hard. After fermentation, it will become soft and uniform. The organic matter decomposes quickly and evenly, which improves the fertilizer efficiency.

5. Organic fertilizers such as cooked soybeans should be fermented and heated in advance, which will kill the bacteria and insect eggs in them, reduce the source of pests and diseases, and benefit crops.

6. Composted soybeans will attract mole crickets, grubs, birds, mice, etc. Adding pesticides with pungent odors can kill underground pests and repel bird and mouse pests.

7. The nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and other elements in cooked soybeans are all in organic form. They must be fermented and applied to the soil before being decomposed and transformed by soil microorganisms and can be absorbed and utilized by crops.

Summarize

Cooked soybeans are very good organic fertilizers, which not only increase the organic matter in the soil, but also supplement nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Moreover, the nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium are all in organic form. After being applied to the soil, the fertilizer efficiency is high and there is a certain aftereffect, but the premise is that it is fermented and decomposed.
